Every Toyota Avalon has a factory water pump. What does it do? It moves water from your sedan's radiator through its engine and back again. The benefit? The process helps your engine stay at a constant temperature so that it can function the best it can, whatever the weather. It also helps keep your engine from overheating. How do original Toyota Avalon water pumps work? First, water moves from your radiator through your motor, heating up as it travels. Your water pump returns the liquid to the radiator, where it cools down. The process repeats. More specifically, in most vehicles today, your engine turns your water pump's belt, which turns its axle in turn. The axle movement is what creates the suction necessary to pull the water out of the radiator. Water reaches the pump, centrifugal force propels it against the pump's outer walls, and it heads down a drain into the engine block, where it passes through the engine's cylinder heads and drains back into the radiator. Unfortunately, even OEM water pumps as good as Toyota makes can fail as they age. Luckily, there are many signs your water pump is going bad. They include a lit temperature warning light or low coolant warning light, a coolant leak, a loose water pump pulley, and low grinding noises when your motor runs. Just as luckily, you can buy new Toyota Avalon water pumps right from the factory, assuring the best fit for your car. Order yours online from our auto parts counter today!
